Famously introduced by James Bond in Ian Fleming’s novel “Casino Royale,” a Vesper Cocktail consists of gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc. Now, when you think of James Bond ordering a cocktail, you probably think of the famous line “shaken, not stirred.” Well, contrary to this, it’s actually better to stir a Vesper cocktail rather than shake it as this results in a much clearer, more elegant drink. Here’s how to make a Vesper Cocktail.

minutesA Vesper cocktail is a potent blend of gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc, garnished with a lemon twist.
Ingredients
3 oz Gin
1 oz Vodka
0.5 oz Lillet Blanc
Lemon Twist For Garnish
Directions
- Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
- Pour in the gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc.
- Stir gently for about 15-20 seconds until it is well mixed and thoroughly chilled.
- Using a cocktail strainer, strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
- Peel 2-3 inches of lemon peel and twist/pinch it over the drink to release the oils.
- Drop the lemon twist in the drink and serve.
