Mojito Cocktail Recipe

A Mojito is a classic rum cocktail containing white rum, fresh lime juice, mint leaves, and sugar. When making a Mojito, you muddle the ingredients together in the same glass that you will use to serve it in. There’s no need to strain or use a separate mixing glass. The only bar tool you will need is a muddler, although you can use the back of a spoon if you don’t have one. Here’s how to make a Mojito.

A Mojito is a refreshing mix of white rum, lime juice, sugar, soda water, and mint.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz White Rum

  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 6 Fresh Mint Leaves

  • 2 Teaspoons Sugar

  • Soda Water (to top up)

Directions

  • Place mint leaves and sugar in a glass. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint and sugar together until the leaves are lightly bruised, and the sugar starts to dissolve.
  • Pour the fresh lime juice over the muddled mint and sugar. This will help dissolve the sugar and release more flavor from the mint.
  • Pour the 2 oz of white rum into the glass.
  • Stir well to mix the rum with the muddled mint, sugar, and lime juice.
  • Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • Top off the glass with soda water and gently stir the cocktail.
  • Garnish with A sprig of mint and a wedge of lime.
