Madras Cocktail Recipe
If you know how to make a Cape Cod cocktail (i.e. a vodka cranberry), then you can easily make a Madras by adding just one extra ingredient: orange juice. This refreshing, juicy cocktail has a vibrant color and a delightful balance of sweet and tart flavors. Many serve a Madras cocktail in a highball glass, but as I like strong cocktails, I prefer to serve in a rock glass with a minimal amount of juice. Here’s how I make a Madras Cocktail.
Making A Madras Cocktail: Pro Tips
As I mentioned before, this is a quite strong version of a Madras. If you prefer, you can serve in a highball glass with 2 oz vodka, 3 oz cranberry juice, and 1 oz orange juice for a classic Madras that has less of a vodka kick.
To make this drink particularly appealing when serving, you can create a layered effect by gently pouring in the orange juice at the end and serving it directly without stiring. The drink will still need to be mixed before drinking, but this initial layered appearance of the drink will make your cocktail more appealing.
