Making An Espresso Martini Cocktail: Pro Tips

While not the hardest of cocktails, making the perfect Espresso Martini does take some practice. Here are some pro tips to help you make the perfect Espresso Martini every time:

Use Fresh Espresso

Always use freshly brewed espresso over any pre-made or instant coffee. The fresh coffee aroma and the strong, bitter taste make a huge difference when making an Espresso Martini. If possible, brew the espresso right before making the cocktail for best results.

Use Quality Vodka And Coffee Liqueur

As with any cocktail, using high-quality ingredients can make a big difference to the taste and mouthfeel of your drink. When making an Espresso Martini, always use a high-quality vodka like Absolute or Grey Goose and a quality coffee liqueur like Kahlua.

Shake Like You Mean It!

Shaking is especially important when making an Espresso Martini. Not only does this mix and chill the drink, but it also aerates the espresso, giving the drink its signature frothy top. So, be sure to shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. Then, check that the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch and check inside to see if the contents are frothy. If not, give it another shake.
